Ancient Egypt Unit Plan and FREEBIE!

Click the picture or click HERE to download this fun Hieroglyphics worksheet! Students learn to write just like the Ancient Egyptian Scribes and write in Hieroglyphics.

My class has so. much. FUN. every year when we complete our Ancient Egypt Studies!

Each day I start by presenting a PowerPoint that teaches my kids about a fun topic from Ancient Egyptian Times!

The Topics I Cover in my Ancient Egypt Unit Are:
1. Egypt on the Map
2. Who Were the Ancient Egyptians?
3. Ancient Egyptian Food
4. Egyptian Daily Life
5. Who Were the Pharaohs?
6. What Were the Pyramids?
7. MUMMIES!
8. Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics

After the PowerPoint presentation, students and I read the reading passage for the day and they complete a quick worksheet that correlates with the PowerPoint and reading passage.

Here is what our lesson would look like on the day we learn about MUMMIES!

First we would have our Mummy PowerPoint Presentation. This PowerPoint has 8 informative slides about mummies, why they were made and how they were made. At the end there is a quiz!

After the PowerPoint, I have my students read the reading passage and answer the questions!

After the passage, we complete a Mummy worksheet! I have made 2 worksheets to go with each ancient Egyptian topic. This gives me choices each year, or extension activities for my fast finishers!

After we complete the worksheet, either that day or the next we will do the Mummy STEM challenge! (Depends on how much time we have) For Mummies, we complete the Mummy Wrap Challenge!

This activity comes with a recording sheet and parent handouts requesting toilet paper donations :)

I love doing this unit at the end of my school year because it keeps my kiddos so so engaged and is full of tons of fun activities that they will remember all summer long!

I hope you enjoy this unit too :)
